Introducing Wedding Planning Intern: Mackenzie

I am thrilled to welcome Mackenzie to the Perfectly Posh Events Team as our awesome summer intern!  She is an absolute sweet heart with a relaxed and friendly personality.  Mackenzie instantly won me over with her sweet personality and go-getter attitude.  For the next few months, Mackenzie will be working with Bridget and I at our planning studio where she will be learning the ropes in wedding planning, helping with client research projects, blogging and assisting at weddings.  Read on to learn a little more about Mackenzie…

A little bit about her:

I am the new owner of a golden retriever puppy named Sherman (go hawks!), and, when I am not snuggling with him or being used as a human chew-toy, I love eating fruit, baking, taking pictures, and playing softball. During the school year, I study psychology at Azusa Pacific University in California, and in my off-time I love to hang out with friends and family, and now as an intern!

Why did you want to have an internship with a wedding planning company?

There is so much energy and excitement that surrounds the wedding planning process and I thought it would be fun to be a part of! Also, when considering what I career I want to commit to in the future, I think being a wedding planner would be a culmination of what I am good at— organization and working with people.

What do you hope you’ll learn during this internship?

I hope to learn what it takes to be a wedding planner— the skills and characteristics, as well the logistical tasks necessary for a wedding to go off without a hitch!

What inspires you?

Nature— whether it is the ocean in California, rainforest in Thailand, the sunsets over Lake Washington, or the view of the mountains from the plane— views like these make me slow down and enjoy the moment.

What is your favorite color?

How would you describe your personal style?

Simple and Sweet

What is your favorite sweet treat?

Blackberry Pie

What three items would you want to have if you were stranded on a dessert island?

Bible, Camera, Flint (would have to put all of my Survivor-watching to good use!)

What’s your favorite moment during a wedding?

I love when all the pictures are being taken because the personalities of the couple and the families come out. I love pictures, so watching them in action is such a fun process for me.

What’s your all-time favorite song?

Bright by Echosmith

What is your favorite TV show?

Currently, I have been watching a lot of Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother, but I also love Friends, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, and Say Yes to the Dress— big TV watcher, so it is tough to choose just one!

Describe yourself in three adjectives:

Friendly, goofy, conscientious
