A Color Palette Series | Fifty Shades of Pink

A Color Palette Series: Fifty Shades of Pink | Perfectly Posh Events

We’re back! We are continuing our color palette series, “Fifty Shades” with another shade on the color wheel; only this time, it’s probably one of the most popular colors that we see incorporated in most of our weddings we design + coordinate– that’s right, it’s Fifty Shades of Pink!

We had such great feedback from our first edition of the series, {Fifty Shades of White} that we are back to give you more beautiful examples of stunning real weddings that showcase a few of the featured shades of pink we’re showcasing. We’re going to show you how different each shade looks, and how a single shade lighter or darker can look so different depending on the complementing colors it can be paired with!

The point of this series is to help identify what exact color {or shade} you are aiming for in your own color scheme for your big day! We often find that one person’s description of a color can mean something totally different to another person’s opinion! So we’re here to set the records straight– one color at a time!

So let’s get to it. Let’s introduce you to our lineup of our Fifty {okay, there aren’t fifty} Shades of Pink!

We’re also showing you real wedding examples that give you some suggestions for complementing colors that could pair with the different shades of pink too! All of the shades we are about to feature come from the color professionals over at Pantone.com. You can find all these color swatches there!

We loved the vibrance of Pink Yarrow in Brandi + Andy’s wedding, and loved its pairing with softer neutrals like Hushed Green, Peach Pink, & Snow White. Pink Yarrow is a perfect pop of color to add a little vibrance to the neutral shades of the outdoors if you’re looking for inspiration for that outdoor backyard wedding.

We had to share this uncommon shade of pink to show how lovely it is and why everyone should be incorporating it! Chalk Pink is a stunning muted, slightly purple-tinted shade of pink. It’s a great neutral  that can often be forgotten behind the shadows of other popular shades of pink! We love seeing it paired with other neutrals like Antique White and Pink Dogwood to help soften and feminize a richer color like Brown Patina. This would be the perfect shade if you’re looking for a shade that’s a bit more unique but can also be paired with anything! We would also love seeing it with gray or gold!

Oh, Crystal Rose, how we love thee. Probably one of the most popular shades of pink, it often can be described as “blush” or “light pink”. One of the reasons for its popularity is its versatility and ability to be paired with so many other colors, all while still feeling soft, and feminine, and colorful! We love how Emily + Darren opted to pair it with Bright White, along with a darker, burgundy shade like Red Dahlia, and a metallic like Golden Cream to give it a dramatic, yet romantic feel. If you’re looking for versatile shade that will make any wedding soft, warm, feminine, and romantic, Crystal Rose is your shade!

Anyone else dream of having a whimsical and ethereal wedding? Meet Tropical Peach. It is the softer, and orange-y-er sister to Crystal Rose. It can often be mistaken for Coral, which is actually a much darker shade {we will show you in another Fifty Shades edition!} of a pink-orange. We wanted to show you Tropical Peach in all its glory, and how Gwen + Ian had it showcased in their effortless celebration of love when they paired it with other stunning colors like Pistachio Green, Gold Earth, & Bright White.

Can you say va-va-voom? We love seeing Hot Pink take center stage in a sea of color at Rachel + David’s mid-century modern affair! There were so many vibrant colors R+D had in their day, but in the end, we thought it best to show you a few of our faves: Cradle Pink brings a breath of fresh air to its darker, much more colorful counterparts such as Vibrant Orange and Bright Gold! You can see Hot Pink could also pair with a bright green, and aqua blue, or even a dark yellow! We also recommend looking at all those bright colors paired with black + white stripes! I’m feeling a Kate Spade themed wedding coming on! Yay for Hot Pink!

Lastly, but certainly not least, rounding out the featured shades of pink for our series is Petal Pink. This understated, muted pink is a stunner. It serves as the perfect neutral for the effortless, natural, garden feel Holly + Dustin had at their celebration. We loved seeing it paired with colors like Parachute Purple, Gossamer Pink, & Antique White. It calmed and softened the space and with it, brought light and feminism. We love seeing Petal Pink as the base neutral and building on top of it to create a cohesive, soft and effortless look for your wedding day!

All the colors mentioned above can be found on Pantone.com. Please also note, depending on the suffix of the color you like, the shade may look different depending on if it is either on paper {printed} or cotton {fabric}. The suffix indicated for a paper shade is: TPX/TPG {think “P” for paper} and the suffix indicated for a cotton shade is: TCX {think “C” for cotton}. For example: Pink Yarrow 17- 2034 TCX {Cotton Shade}.

We hope this blog has been helpful, in finding the right colors for you to describe your palette and wedding day dreams.
