Makayla & Johnny Hekker are college sweethearts who met attending Oregon State University and connected through a love of sports; she was a gymnast and he played football. Johnny is the punter for the Ram’s football team and they selected Seattle as the destination for their wedding because they love the Pacific Northwest and have close family & friend ties in the area. Most of the wedding planning was done from a distance due and the couple trusted Holly to bring their wedding vision to life and even booked their urban venue, the Fremont Foundry, sight-unseen!
Their overall vision was a simple and fresh wedding in an urban setting with a mix of modern and vintage that showcased the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. They choose a mix of copper, neutrals and natural greens as their color palette, which popped off the concrete setting at the Fremont Foundry beautifully. Johnny & Makayla wanted their guests to have a blast at their wedding so they incorporated an ice cream sandwich food truck and slow motion booth at the reception and both were definitely a big hit! The night ended with a sparkler departure and mini-bud vases of flowers for each guests as a favor.
