Since we are all sporting all things green on this festive day, we had to share with you one of our most unique and stunning weddings we’ve had the privilege to design and coordinate. Can you guess why we chose Hillary + Martin’s wedding? That’s right–it had green–and lots and lots of it! Check out H+M’s wedding to get into the St. Patty’s spirit! Who knows, it might even inspire to be bold and different on your big day!
Hillary + Martin’s love story is so sweet. They met online, and hit it off so well, that their relationship became serious very quickly, and the next thing they knew they were engaged! During their engagement, they met with our incredible planners, Holly & Huoy who helped guide and design the romantic, cozy, nature-inspired feel they were hoping to attain for their intimate celebration! Hilary and Martin were equally involved in the planning process. It was amazing to see them have a jointed vision for their wedding day celebration and how supportive of each other they were as we planned everything–and so sweet too! We loved working with H+M to plan their special day.
We love it when we hear that a couple wants to make their celebration unique and their own, because we get to stretch our “creativity muscles”. From the get go, Hillary knew she wanted to incorporate green into her wedding, so we worked with her to make sure her “fingerprints” of green were evident from start to finish! From the dress, to her accessories, or subtle elements throughout the day, her emerald green took center stage, and was the star of the show–besides the bride and groom. 😉
Salish Lodge, and its breathtaking surroundings {especially in the fall!} was the perfect backdrop to set the tone for their magical, nature-inspired nuptials. It stands over one of the most iconic natural wonders in the Pacific Northwest– Snoqualmie Falls. H+M used the falls and the lodge as their inspiration for the day to create a magical day for not only themselves but their guests.
Knowing Hillary loved green and wanted to incorporate it, it only made sense to make sure we had all shades of green in the floral decor. From the ferns in her bouquet to the moss on the tables, to everything in between, her color palette consisted of all shades of green, white, and silver, giving the day the natural element brought indoors, in contrast to the cozy, rustic feel of the lodge.
Their ceremony was very intimate, with about forty guests or so. Guests were serenaded by a string quartet as they found their seats and witnessed the ceremony. They had a friend officiate, and only one best man and one maid of honor, which made it very special and personal.
In lieu of a unity candle, H+M opted for an “Anniversary Wine Box”, where they would open one of the bottles of wine every milestone anniversary, like one year, five years, ten years–a great alternative to other unity rituals!
After celebrating their commitment to each other at their ceremony, then came dinner, drinks, and dancing! Their reception design was beautiful, and echoed once again, the magical, nature-inspired ambiance H + M wanted. Complete with moss adorned table numbers and breathtaking centerpieces, their reception was full of personal touches, and a nod to the great outdoors around them.
Holly & Huoy loved getting to share in your celebrations, H+M! Congratulations! And the best of wishes for you both!
