Our social media outlets here at the Perfectly Posh Events HQ have been buzzing with everyone’s talk and excitement over Pantone’s big reveal for the 2017 Color of the Year! For those of you who aren’t familiar with Pantone or the degree of their influence, they are the leading voice and opinion on all things color. Each year, they declare a particular color the hue they think will reflect the mood, attitude, and culture of the coming year– and we are already on the Pantone bandwagon! Meet Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year:

A word from the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman on the selection of Greenery as the 2017 Color of the Year:

We L-O-V-E how Leatrice described Greenery as “….the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” In relation to weddings, for many of our couples, this is exactly what they seek to capture in the look and feel of their wedding! Many describe their wedding as “organic”, “natural”, “relaxed” “outdoorsy”, “centered around those we love”, or best of all “a reflection of us both”. We think Pantone nailed it on the head with this year’s selection!
The cool thing about this year’s Color of the Year– not just those of us who live, breath, sleep weddings, but also for our couples, is this time around, wedding trends are ahead of the pack!
Our fearless leader and boss lady, Holly Patton Olsen remarks, “This is the first time that I can remember when wedding trends were ahead of Pantone on trends–usually Pantone sets the trends in color but we’ve been seeing a truck load of greenery wanting to be incorporated into weddings for a few seasons now. With Pantone promoting it even more there is good chance that we will continue to see greenery for at least the next 3 years!” This is great news for us! We love getting the chance to be creative and collaborate with our talented florist friends to bring the beauty of the outdoors in to make our couple’s visions come to life. Sometimes nature makes it easy on us, by just being itself, and we take advantage of its natural beauty!
As Pantone puts it, “Greenery is nature’s neutral.” We are so giddy to share with you a few of our real weddings that showed off “nature’s neutral” so well! Check them out!
