I am so excited to welcome Anastasia to the Perfectly Posh Events team as our Fall Intern!!! She is a driven and talented young lady who is attending the University of Washington. I love that she is studying psychology, which is definitely a skill set that is beneficial in the wedding planning world! Plus, she likes old school Mariah Carey which will make the office music selection so much easier to choose since that’s my type of jam! Anastasia will be working alongside Bridget and I in the planning studio, assisting with vendor research projects, writing blog posts, and observing client meetings. If you see her at the studio or an event be sure to say “hi”! ~ Holly
Tell me a little bit about yourself:
I am a junior at the University of Washington studying psychology and when I’m not going to school I serve as the Activities Chair for my sorority. I also make coffee on the side just to keep a little money in my pocket, plus who doesn’t love free coffee? I am the youngest of three daughters and my family is a bunch of loud, Greek people with whom I love to spend my time. I played Varsity basketball all 4 years of high school and I still continue to play here and there when I can squeeze in some free time. A few things I love to do include canoeing, going to football games, drawing, and binge watching shows on Netflix.
Why did you want to have an internship with a wedding planning company?
I have been planning my wedding since the day I was old enough to know what a wedding was. For a long time, it was my dream to be a wedding planner, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized that I could turn that dream into a reality. Planning events has always been my passion, and I am excited to learn the ropes and get acquainted with the wedding planning world!
What do you hope you’ll learn during this internship?
I hope to learn everything it takes to be a wedding planner—from the logistical aspects down to the characteristics and attitudes a planner needs to have. I am so eager to get started and figure out the skills I need in order to eventually take on a career of my own and help people make their wedding dreams come true!
What inspires you?
What inspires me the most are people who have passion. There’s nothing quite like seeing someone’s eyes light up as they start describing whatever it is they love most in this world. Witnessing the passion they have for whatever it may be is so incredibly inspiring and reminds me that there’s always a beautiful reason to be excited to wake up in the morning and take the day by storm.
What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is purple (go dawgs!).
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as chic and modern. I also like to be comfy, but typically comfy-cute.
What is your favorite sweet treat?
My favorite sweet treat is definitely cheesecake.
What three items would you want to have if you were stranded on a dessert island?
I would probably need a Bible, a pencil and a sketchbook.
What’s your favorite moment during a wedding?
Hands down, the best part of a wedding is when the bride walks down the aisle. I know that’s probably the most cliché answer I could have had, but there’s so much anticipation and excitement regarding that special moment. Not to mention, snagging a look at the groom’s face as he watches his future wife walk towards him will make your heart melt.
What’s your all-time favorite song?
My favorite song is probably Hero by Mariah Carey. Or really anything by old-school Mariah Carey, I was obsessed with her when I was younger.
What is your favorite TV show?
It’s so hard to pick a favorite because it really depends on what my current Netflix obsession is. Right now, I’d probably have to say my favorite is Friday Night Lights.
Describe yourself in three adjectives:
Ambitious, independent, and easy-going.
Smiles!
