There is no question that the PNW has some really unique and amazing venues sprinkled all throughout the cities, mountains, deserts and vineyards. How lucky are we to have all of these gorgeous landscapes as a backdrop for a wedding? As a designer, it’s so fun to walk into an empty venue as if you’re an artist staring at a blank canvas. Design ideas instantly come to mind and I’m eager to get the styling started! I often get asked what my ideal venue would be for a wedding but it is nearly impossible to pick a favorite type of venue – there are just too many to choose from and so many different styles of design that you can run with! So instead of picking one single venue, I’m thrilled to start a new blog series to spotlight our top local venues and other fabulous vendors! What better way to start the venue series than in our new location – PDX!

A good Portland venue isn’t complete without a rich backstory, and the history of Union Pine melts my heart in so many ways. Originally built by a #bosslady in the 60’s, hosted performances by some of my favorite bands in the 90’s and now home to an extraordinary couple who creates lifelong memories for newly wedded couples. Owners Summer and Patrick’s love story is equally as remarkable as the love that went into the life of what we know now as Union Pine (read more!).
Those who know me know I love to explore, try new things and meet new people. Tell me where I need to travel next to check out the best venues! I would love to hear your recommendations!
Cheers!
