It’s my favorite time of the year!! {Aside from wedding season of course, wink!} The holiday season gives us some time to relax, spend time with friends and family, and an excuse to dress up fancy and throw a party! Hosting a holiday party only requires a few little details to make it sparkly, yummy, and merry!!
Dress to Impress

It’s the perfect time of the year to wear that little black dress you’ve been dying to wear or a gold sequin cocktail dress that is always a great choice. Keep in mind to dress conservative if you’re inviting coworkers, family, or any younger kids to the party. Dressing in heels {believe it or not!} will kill your feet as you’re running around keeping up with the soiree so plan on wearing very cute but very comfy flats. The most exciting part? Finally being able to wear that red lipstick you’ve been dying to wear!

When your guests start arriving, what’s the best way to break the ice {pun intended}? Offer a specialty cocktail for your friends to enjoy. There are countless cocktail recipes to choose from like one of my favorites – the peppermint martini. All it takes is vodka and peppermint shnapps, shaken with ice, and strain! Voila! Always keep red and white wine, champagne, and non-alcoholic beverages to offer for your guests during a holiday dinner.
Sweet Treats

A great way to get your guests excited and involved in helping you with pulling off the best holiday party is to invite them to bake their favorite dessert to share with everyone! The perfect types of sweets for an event are miniature desserts like bite sized cake pops or mini cupcakes! What are your favorite desserts you like share with friends?
Warm Beverages

The winter season always calls for a warm and cozy beverage at any time of day. Offer coffee and tea to your guests to make sure they stay warm! For those of you who are cappuccino experts and have a personal espresso machine at home, this is the perfect time to put it to use! Go the extra step and offer peppermint flavoring or to spike things up add Bailey’s, Kahlua, or Frangelico to splash into your warm latte.
Music, Dancing, and Entertainment

The final piece of the cake to hosting the perfect holiday party is the entertainment! Play festive music when guests arrive to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Playing holiday is a great way for guests to get to know each other more and to make sure everyone is having a great time! Games like White Elephant or Secret Santa are holiday favorites!
The holidays are definitely my favorite time of the year to get together with friends and family, to give to others, and to drink champagne! What are looking forward to this holiday season?
Stay merry!
