Once you’ve walked down the aisle, said your “I do’s” and danced the night away at your wedding, it’s time to turn your attention to your honeymoon. We’re seeing a growing trend with couples who are skipping the traditional wedding registry and saying no to the blender, the china and the linens and instead are turning to honeymoon registries that allow family and friends to contribute to the honeymoon trip itself. There are so many honeymoon registry websites out there and picking one can be overwhelming. So we want to show you a couple ways to create your registry.

Create a Registry
The first step is to find a honeymoon registry site you like. We have a few favorites, like Traveler’s Joy and Zola. The websites are free. And only take a few minutes to put your registry together. Here you are building a registry with the experiences and activities you and your significant other will enjoy on your trip, wherever in the world it is. Snorkeling in Maui. Hiking in Peru. Sipping champagne in Paris. As your guests contribute to these events the websites send the money to you. And voila, you’re enjoying the honeymoon of your dreams.
What to Pack
Whether your honeymoon is a weekend getaway or a month-long, it will be a trip you’ll remember for the rest of your life. You’ll want to be comfortable and chic. You can accomplish both with what you’ve packed in your carry-on or your checked bag.
Stick with neutral pieces that can be worn with everything in your suitcase like a button down for him and a classic white T-shirt for her that can also be dressed up or down with jewelry.
A comfortable pair of shoes that can be worn with jeans, khakis or a skirt means less shoes in your luggage. A dress, like that little black one, that can easily transform from day to night with a sweater, earrings and a statement necklace means more space to pack.
There are a few items you’ll need that depend on your destination. Going tropical? Don’t forget your sunnies, swimsuit, a cute coverup and a hat. Also check that your resort or hotel provides beach towels. In a colder climate you’ll want to be able to layer with a light raincoat that can easily be stuffed into your luggage, a scarf and socks to keep your tootsies toasty.
There are of course your must haves for your post-wedding getaway: identification, airline tickets, passports, your travel itinerary and any prescription medicine. You’ll want to make sure you have your credit card, cash with you, a change of clothes in your carry-on and any chargers. Here’s a helpful hint too. The plane ride or the car ride to your destination is a great time to write your wedding thank you notes.
Then there are a few special items that won’t take up too much space that are sure to make the most of your trip like Voluspa travel candles.
Also fun to pack: a journal so you can remember your trip, a love note for your spouse and a special honeymoon playlist.
In closing, during these challenging and difficult times some couples are having to postpone their celebrations. Keep in mind though, there are still guests who might want to honor your original wedding date by sending you a gift. So having your wedding registry, whether it’s the traditional registry or the travel registry active, even when you’re in the midst of adjusting your plans, is still a good thing.

Until next time!
