It was love at first site when I met with Bailey and Pete at their initial consultation. Their bubbly personalities were so contagious and their consult felt more like old friends getting together and chatting. Their engagement story even had me in *happy* tears which in turn made Pete’s mom tear up and soon everyone was sniffling! It was a clear match and I knew we were going to have so much fun planning their wedding.
On the day of the wedding, the emotions were so high not only because it was such a happy and beautiful day but all of their closest friends and family were together in one place to celebrate love, health and happiness on what would be the greatest New Years soiree.
The overall design theme was centered around geometric shapes, mixed metals, and PNW outdoors, and lodge feel. The overall ambiance that Bailey and Pete wanted was fun, unique and a true reflection of their personality. After seeing all the pieces come together, I believe we hit the nail on the head!
The venue was the perfect setting. It combined all the elements of Pacific Northwest and romance complete with festive twinkle lights {the ground was covered in winter frost too}. While guests were checking into their rooms {same site as ceremony and reception space} Bailey was getting dolled up with her bridesmaids and Pete was playing poker and watching football with his groomsmen.
Butter & Bloom did an incredible job interpreting the cold and wintery outdoors into romance and magic with deep red flowers and natural greenery.
Their first look could not have been more perfectly timed with the sunset. Can we please stop and talk about Bailey’s gown? Her fur coat could not have been a more perfect match.
There has always been a meaningful connection with Bailey’s late grandmother and butterflies. Whenever something very special happens in their lives, a butterfly always makes an appearance and you can feel her grandmother’s presence. Bailey wanted to incorporate a subtle butterfly somewhere in her wedding so we found a beautiful butterfly brooch to add to her bridal bouquet where only she knew where it was – in her hand during the ceremony.
In the midst of planning a fun and gorgeous wedding, Bailey’s brother Brock was unexpectedly diagnosed with leukemia. Family and friends supported Brock during his treatment and road to recovery {brocktongates.com} as well as preparing for a big trip to Seattle for the wedding. Since Brock was the one who initially introduced Bailey and Pete, it was no question that he was going to be the officiant who married them on their wedding day.
{From the bride} “We weren’t sure that he would be able to be present at the wedding let alone stand up and marry us so just the fact that he was there made the ceremony all that much more significant and special for us.”
The ceremony backdrop was handmade by Bailey’s aunt and uncle who really outdid themselves. The ribbon and lace tied in the feminine and romantic ambiance to the ceremony.Given that it was a NYE wedding, guests were encouraged to grab a glass of champagne as they took their seats. When it came time for the ceremony to begin, you can see the excitement in the guests, wedding party and bride & groom’s eyes.
At one point in the ceremony, there was a short toast to congratulate the beautiful couple – bridesmaids hid their mini flasks in their bouquets and groomsmen stored theirs in their coat pocket. The moment Bailey and Pete were pronounced husband and wife, guests were surprised with the entire room being covered in faux-snow! It was the absolute perfect way to transition from the ceremony to reception.
Toasts were so genuine, meaningful and emotional. It is very clear as to how amazing Bailey and Pete are and what an impact they have had on everyone’s lives.
MikedUp Productions had everyone on the dance floor from the moment the party started, drinks were pouring from the bar, the heavy hors d’oeuvres were mouth watering. Seattle Slow Motion was such a hit and a fun surprise for everyone! S’more Amore was the perfect touch for a winter wedding.
I could list every detail of the decor throughout the room but suffice to say, each nook and cranny had a very thought out and hand made detail that reflected Bailey and Pete’s relationship, personality and style. From the entrance signs to the fleece blankets and personal photos on each table.
The countdown could not have been more perfect! Just when everyone was thinking that the night couldn’t get any better, the countdown began… At the stroke of midnight, the entire dance floor was showered with confetti!
The entire planning process {including the day of the wedding} from beginning to end was filled with surprises, laughter, love and pure happiness. It was true honor and pleasure helping Bailey and Pete plan the day of their dreams. It is so bittersweet that it was over and I get a little bit of nostalgia each time I flip through their wedding photos.
Congratulations Bailey and Pete!
Enjoy!
