LIGHT + AIRY WEDDING FOR A CLASSIC MODERN COUPLE

We are so excited to share Rachel + Elliot’s perfectly elegant wedding with you! This is a wedding that exemplifies classic elegance. It was recently featured on Smashing the Glass! The Jewish wedding ceremony & reception were held at Seattle’s Fremont Foundry which features sweeping views of North Seattle. In addition to the epic rooftop, The Foundry has a modern industrial reception space indoors. The neutral, light and airy design embraced the urban setting while adding a touch of romance. By choosing a simple color palate this allowed all of the details to compliment each other seamlessly.

The Dress
Rachel’s Sarah Seven dress from The Dress Theory was perfect for the modern classic bride.

The Stationery
The white welcome sign with elegant script set the tone for a flawless and classy event. From the invitation to the escort cards, to the handmade custom Ketubah, everything about this event flowed harmoniously.

The Ceremony
To commemorate their grandfathers, Elliot and Rachel used their tallits (prayer shawls) as part of their chuppah covering. “It was a beautiful way to incorporate their memory into the ceremony,” she says. For the Jewish wedding tradition of breaking the glass the couple opted to each break a glass in unison rather than just having the groom break the glass, to show that they are partners. The ceremony and cocktail hour were held on Fremont Foundry’s rooftop on a warm summer evening. Wedding flowers were created by Leigh & Mitchell.

The Reception
Rachel says she had a vision of “natural timeless elegance,” with wonderful views of Seattle and simple décor–string lights and greenery–in their main reception hall. The modern industrial setting for this Fremont Foundry wedding was the perfect urban setting to add greenery and string lights.

The Flowers
We love the texture and interest that all of the different blooms and greenery bring to the floral arrangements. In addition to the flowers, the varying textures continue with the distinctive votive candles, tying it all together eclectically.

The Food
Catering was provided by Ravishing Radish. Their lavish attention to presentation is top notch.

The Cake
Simple greenery adds so much shape and brings a touch of nature to this modern yet timeless wedding cake by The Sweet Side.

Nothing says light and airy quite like balloons! M&M Balloon Co. provided the fun white and translucent balloons. In addition to being a fun design feature they make for mobile photo prop! Photographer Katie Parra‘s keen eye for detail and composition captured this dreamy wedding.

For couples who are planning their weddings, Rachel advises, “Use and trust your wedding planner. Their job is to make your big day run smoothly. Letting go of the planning details allows you to truly enjoy the day–it goes by fast!”. Perfectly Posh Events owner Holly Patton Olsen was the designer and planner for this wedding.
