We are absolutely thrilled to share photos with you from Hetal + Jake’s incredible wedding weekend. No matter who you are or where you grew up, weddings are a sacred and a special event. Hetal + Jake marked their union by fusing their families over the course of two days with beautiful nods to each culture. As a result, elegance, vibrance and of course fun filled the two days.

A Vibrant Indian Celebration
Hetal + Jake hosted friends and family at Columbia Winery. While it poured down rain, the gray didn’t stop the color from coming through. For instance, you can see it in Hetal’s intricate hand painted henna, bouquet and sari in sumptuous red and gold.
One of our favorite memories? Watching Jake have the greatest time at his baraat. Jake led the parade atop a white horse donned in decorative dress. A Dohl drummer led Jake’s friends and family from the parking lot to the venue. So much color, singing and dancing! To top off this extraordinary moment, Hetal waved to everyone below from the balcony above.

Guests followed Jake into the receiving ceremony where Jake met with Hetal’s family. After that, he stepped on a clay pot and broke it, which is a tradition that proves he is worthy of Hetal. Hetal’s family then escorted Jake into the ceremony, followed by the guests.
The wedding took place under a beautifully decorated mandap. Colorful elements, including hanging flowers, decorated the structure, for instance.

Hetal + Jake wanted their guests to follow along with the elaborate Hindu ceremony. It included many traditions and rituals. To help guests, Hetal had popcorn boxes made that outlined the rituals. It featured a cute cartoon drawing of the couple. And guests snacked on the popcorn!
After dinner the evening turned into a semi-sangeet complete with dances, songs and surprise videos the bride didn’t know about. But Hetal + Jake had a surprise for their guests. A choreographed dance. They spent four months planning and rehearsing. Here’s a link to their video of them practicing: https://youtu.be/xPyvej10LzI

An Elegant & Romantic Ceremony
The next day, Hetal + Jake hosted their guests at SoDo Park in a celebration of Jake’s Jewish heritage. The celebration is rich with traditions and customs that have been handed down from generation to generation. The day started with the first look complete with a stunning view of Seattle.

A color palette of blush, cream and white filled SoDo Park and set the romantic tone.

A beautiful blending of Hetal + Jake’s two cultures can be seen in the Chuppah. Hetal’s mom’s Sari wove through the structure where Hetal + Jake were married.

In another nod to their cultures, the vibrant color from the previous night’s ceremony is present. The couple’s ketubah featured the word “love” in a vibrant red. The ketubah is the historical and traditional Jewish marriage contract. However, it is often presented as a piece of art.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed cocktails. Hetal + Jake had fun with this in paying respects to their blended backgrounds. Their specialty cocktails were named “The Shapiro Fashioned” and the “Patel Party.” To pay homage to the previous night’s celebration, guests’ place cards were held in place from Columbia Winery corks.

Dancing is a big part of a wedding—including a Jewish celebration! And Hetal + Jake did not disappoint! Therefore, you can see it below from the Horah, a traditional Jewish dance, which included guests lifting Hetal + Jake in chairs high above their heads!

Hetal + Jake were an absolute dream to work with. They are an incredibly efficient and busy couple. And above all, are the epitome of the term “teammate.” Hetal + Jake were team players in splitting the workload with our team and amongst themselves. We spent our time laughing, joking and making well-thought decisions together, as a team.
Congratulations Hetal + Jake!

Until next time
~Katie
