Tell me a little bit about yourself:
I’ve had the pleasure to call Seattle my home for the past 12 years. I’m originally from Orange County, California. Growing up on the beach was pretty rad. I was ready to trade the sunshine for the rain. And I love the weather here. The food. The water. The lush greens. Mmmhmm.
And I’m a recent bride myself.! My husband and I got married in a 13th century castle in Scotland just outside of Edinburgh. Thirty-six of our loved ones made the journey from all over the states to be there. A weekend filled with so much love. So much laughter. So many memories.

We love to travel! When I’m not thinking about dreamy weddings I’m baking. I’m cooking with my husband. By cooking I mean drinking wine while he whips up a gorgeous meal. And working on my 1965 Mustang which my Mom bought in high school.

What do you love most about being a Wedding Coordinator?
Two people have decided to make a life-long commitment to each other. In front of everyone they know and love. They’re planning what is most likely the biggest party of their life. To be a part of that, that love, that positivity and that true and utter happiness is an absolute honor and privilege.
What inspires you?
I find inspiration in many things: the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, our travels around the world, food, my family, literature and design. While these are complex I find I’m most inspired by the process of taking an idea from its simplest form and creating it into something that exists when it didn’t exist before.
What is your favorite color?
Black. I once read this quote, “Black is a very happy color darling.” It’s classic. It’s fierce. It’s slimming. And it goes with everything.
How would you describe your personal style?
Timeless with an edge.
What is your favorite sweet treat?
Cheese. Hands down. I know it’s not classically sweet. But have you ever had melted brie on French bread with avocado and Italian seasoning? It’ll change your life.
What three items would you want to have if you were stranded on a desert island?
*Matches. Cuz you know, fire.
*The copy of my favorite book, “The Great Gatsby,” which I’ve had since I first read it as a young Katie.
*My husband. He’s from Montana. While he’s not an item I’d be lost without him. He’s my favorite person.

What’s your favorite moment during a wedding?
This is a really tough question! So I’ll narrow it down to two. First the when the bride steps out to start her walk down the aisle. The breaths and awe-filled gasps the guests take. The look on her partners face. Seriously I have chills just typing it!
And the toasts. This is when you can really feel the love in the room. And hopefully have a laugh or two in between those happy tears! Ugly crying allowed!!
What’s your all time favorite song?
“Beyond the Sea” by classic crooner Bobby Darin
What is your favorite TV show?
The Office. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Gallactica.
Describe yourself in three adjectives:
*Elegant
*Loyal
*Grace under fire

You stay classy Seattle,
Katie
