Growing up in the beautiful and fertile Skagit Valley, our bride Isabel knew she wanted to bring her loved ones from near and far, to celebrate her union with Kyle in her hometown of La Conner, Washington.

Beautiful Skagit Valley
Known for hosting one of the most famous tulip festivals in the world, the Skagit Valley boasts fresh local agriculture and as you will soon see, horticulture. Their venue, Christianson’s Nursery is tucked right among the tulip fields, but has some of the most stunning and romantic backdrops for all to explore when one visits. From their 1888 schoolhouse, to their romantic gardens, the breathtaking greenhouses with the most dreamy lighting, to the beautiful reclaimed barn that overlooks miles of tilled fields, it was the perfect backdrop for Isabel + Kyle to say ‘I do!’.

Christianson’s Schoolhouse, Greenhouse, and Lush Gardens

With such a beautiful venue with so much to explore, Isabel really wanted to utilize the beauty of the venue, and even incorporate some of their nursery-grown plants in warm, rich terracotta pots, which inspired her burnt orange/terra cotta color inspiration to be used elsewhere in her design, such as in her flowers, signage, and wedding party attire. We love couples that don’t shy away from color!

Ceremony at Dusk
To kick-off festivities, guests were encouraged to tour the nursery grounds and explore all the nooks and cranny of the sprawling property while they enjoyed a pre-ceremony cocktail hour featuring a his and her cocktail. Then due to Jewish customs, the ceremony took place at dusk, which lent for a beautiful backdrop, as the sun set behind them off in the west. Again, she utilized existing plants + pots from the nursery to give an almost Tuscan vibe, complete with Persian rugs, to set the ceremony scene.

After the ceremony, dinner + dancing took place inside the reclaimed barn on the property which was so lovingly named “the Vinery”, where table centerpieces were once-again potted plants raised by the Christianson’s Nursery for guests to enjoy– but not before taking in the gorgeous sunset!

Guests enjoyed farm to table food, deliciously prepared, and yummy, gluten free blueberry pie for dessert. You can’t forget the dancing–and the Hora!
