Unique and Edgy Wedding at Within Sodo

Perfectly Posh News· Real Weddings

9 Feb

 Within Sodo  |  Seattle, Washington

This is truly a urban Seattle wedding for the books! There are so many unique and stunning elements that this edgy bride and groom added to their Within Sodo wedding to not just throw a pretty awesome party but also to stand out from the crowd. Alaina and Joe are such a laid back and fun couple who wanted to spend time with friends and family to celebrate their marriage. Sounds so sweet and simple, right? Take a look at these unique but oh-so-well done DIY details, with coordination by our very own Senior Planner Bridget!

Early on in the planning process, Alaina knew that she wanted to be very hands on with the design and include her friends and family as much as possible. With Alaina’s creative mind and Joe’s go-get-it attitude, their DIY-done-right wedding was not just unique but showed off their personalities to a T. Their edgy, quirky, and modern styles shined through from beginning to end.

Before kicking off their Within Sodo wedding, Alaina and her wedding party got ready at the Washington Athletic Club (WAC). Her friend, who conveniently is a killer hair stylist, made the bride look stunning in a faux-hawk. Local Seattle makeup stylist Urbanista finished her rock star look with a smokey eye and striking red lipstick.

Joe and Alaina arrived in style at their wedding venue. You couldn’t help but think that these love birds were rock star celebrities. Another close friend of Alaina’s family is a florist at Botany 101 who added the perfect touch to making this bride stand out from other beautiful brides. Alaina’s cascading bridal bouquet trailed to the floor! Talk about a conversation piece.

Meanwhile Joe was busy crafting life-size cut outs of themselves for guests to take fun photos with on their wedding day.

Spending time with guests was a high priority for Alaina and Joe. To keep their guests up and mingling, they added yard games on the rooftop and a local food truck, Wood Shop BBQ, for everyone to enjoy. Their wedding had something for everyone who attended!

Alaina and Joe’s modern and edgy DIY wedding is one I will never forget. What more can you ask for when you have a long list of “friend-ors” (wedding vendors who are close friends to the couple) and a really cool, laid back couple who just want to have a fun party? The entire wedding day was filled with so much joy and laughter. Congratulations again Alaina and Joe!
