I’m both elated and embarrassed at how long it’s taken to share Stephanie + Codey’s beautiful day with the world. I’ve had these stunning photos to myself for almost a year, and have not done right by the world in keeping them private for so long–but no more! So today, in honor of their one year anniversary coming up this weekend, I celebrate, and showcase the beautiful day that was Stephanie + Codey’s wedding.

Getting to Know S+C
There are a few things you need to know right off the bat about Stephanie + Codey: first, they adore each other. Second, they’re the proud parents of their darling fur-baby Tucker, who has his own Instagram following. And third, Margaret, mother of Stephanie is their best bud. Speaking of bud, I’ll get to that in a moment.

When I first met Stephanie + Codey, it was clear we were going to have the grandest time dreaming up all of their wedding details together. They both were so thoughtful about everything. From the specialty linens, to the chargers, the flower vessels, to the stationery. They hand picked everything together. I’ve never had a groom so interested [and opinionated!] about the vision and design of his wedding. It was so fun for me! I also worked pretty closely with Margaret! She never missed a planning session or mock-up, and she always made me laugh.

Stephanie + Codey wanted an elegant affair under a stunning tent, complete with a water view. Soft blushes, whites, creams, and gold accents was their color palette, with greenery + a touch of the PNW included in there. They wanted an elegant dining experience, and went all-out to ensure their guest tables were intentional, and classic. Every detail was thought out. Every single one!

The Wedding Ceremony
The sun held up for their ceremony, which left for a sparkling backdrop for Stephanie + Codey to say “I Do”. In their ceremony they talked about the PNW, where they built their home together and begin this new adventure together. Afterward, post-ceremony, they sipped on bubbly while aboard the Woodmark II for a Lake Washington cruise.

From the beginning, Stephanie + Codey wanted their escort table to be fun, and whimsical. So they hand painted and cut different woodland + ocean creatures native to the PNW to be their escort card holders, and told guests to “Find their Party Animal”.

The Wedding Reception
After cocktail hour, guests were directed back under the tent for the elegant reception.Their sweetheart table was one of my favorite design elements. We repurposed the altar pieces and surrounded their sweetheart table with them. I surprised them with a pearl sequined linen, and paired it with elegant chairs we special rented from Fanciful Rentals. It was a picturesque setting.

After dinner came toasts, which was hands down, my favorite moment of the entire day–Margaret’s toast. Margaret was there to make sure the wedding was elegant, classic, and tasteful. I say all this, because you need to know the context of how I’ve known Margaret; the classy, elegant mother. Her toast started very sweet and engaging, as she narrated their love story in the context of a fairytale. She was the queen, Stephanie was the Princess, and Codey was the handsome prince, who won Margaret over– by understanding and encouraging the queen’s affection for her favorite beverage– Bud Light. That’s right. Bud Light. She wraps up her story, with the princess and prince living happily ever after, and declared the guests cheer with her as she raised her bottle of Bud Light and declared “DILLY DILLY!” The crowd erupted in laughter, cheering, and clapping. It was glorious.

After the toasts + dances, came the party, which was about to be even more fun! Being both WSU alum, they notified me a few weeks out from their wedding that they were able to acquire the WSU mascot, Butch to make an appearance at their wedding– crimson sequined tux and all. With the majority of the crowd being Cougs as well, Butch was the star of the night {Besides S+C}. And you can bet a Coug flag was hoisted atop the Woodmark flagpole.

If you’re reading this, Stephanie + Codey, I want to wish you both a Happy Anniversary! I think of you and your fam often, and hope you guys enjoy re-living this day with me all over again! Let’s get happy hour soon!
Until next time!
