If you are curious about what true love looks like, just see how Kevin and Derek look at each other. Check out this sophisticated and industrial wedding gallery and tell me their wedding day wasn’t filled with playfulness, sentimental moments, pure happiness, and an overflowing amount of love! You know you’ll get the most genuine photos when you hire a photographer who is instantly your best friend upon your first meeting. Melissa Kilner Photography felt like a life-long family friend making everyone feel so comfortable in front of the lens on the wedding day.
What I love most about planning and designing weddings is making each event personalized and a true reflection of the couple. Throw out the traditions and do what feels most comfortable to you and your significant other. Derek and Kevin had one stipulation at the start of planning – to have fun! Why not begin the fun in the planning process? Pop the bubbly, get to scrolling, and enjoy the dance party of the year!
Derek and Kevin got ready in their separate rooms at the Olive 8 Hyatt Hotel with their closest friends who will be standing by their side at the altar later that day. As they met each other on the oh-so-photogenic staircase for their first look, you would think they were models as a full-time job. Gents, take notes!
When Derek would talk more about their furbaby Wesley more than his fiancé Kevin, obviously Wesley needed to be included in the wedding! I mean let’s all be honest here, isn’t he just the cutest “best pup”?! Sublime Stems really homed in on their design when they wanted something simple, classic, fun, and sophisticated. We incorporated industrial and rustic details into the design to tie in Sodo Park’s natural, historic, and urban ambiance. Adding greenery and gold geometric terrariums in all the little places softened the overall look while keeping it masculine.
My absolute favorite part of any wedding is unveiling the reception room to the newly married couple privately before their guests enter the room. This gives the couple to truly enjoy all the little details that have been planned for months before the party begins. Derek and Kevin top the cake with their reaction! This is why I do what I do folks – making dreams come true one napkin fold at a time.
I could not be happier to have Derek and Kevin, and Wesley, as part of our Perfectly Posh Events family! What a night to remember.
Cheers,
Bridget
